We also offer you the possibility of combining your Safari with a beach holiday to the island of Pemba. This island is located 50 km above Zanzibar, the biggest difference between the two islands is their uneven nesses. Zanzibar hardly knows any uneven nesses, where Pemba is very undulating, this island offers also you more different vegetation than Zanzibar.

Pemba is also famous for its voodoo people, and herb-doctors who heal people only with herbs and plants. People come from far to have their sicknesses cured, and in most cases they do not come for nothing! Furthermore the infrastructure is still poor, asphalted roads are not yet known here.

But the true adventurer will find this island more pleasant than the touristic Zanzibar. 
Here you still find deserted beaches, the nature is more beautiful, and here you find the most beautiful coral reefs of Tanzania.

You can reach this island like this, you can fly from Arusha to Zanzibar, or take a boat from Dar es Salaam to Stone Town, and than take a boat from the north of Zanzibar to the island of Pemba.
