Thanks to these unevenness the park has a lot of  landscapes, grass plains to tropical rain forests to the foot of the mountains.

The park lends itself  very well for walking safaris, there are three popular destinations; first there is a three day hike to the top of Mwanihana Peak on 2100 metres this is the second highest point of the park; the second destination takes a half day and the walk brings you through the tropical forests of the Sanje water falls this you is a short but steep hike, when you arrive at these very beautiful water falls there is the possibility to take a dive in the crystal clear water of the lake; the third destination brings you in 40 minutes to a smaller water fall.

In the park you can find among other things the following animals; elephants, zebras, wildebeest, leopards, ostriches, several types of sulk and gazelles, Hippopotamuses and Nile crocodiles.
